The third recording work by one of the leading singers in present-day flamenco. This album, produced by Enrique Morente, appears five years after the great successes that she reaped with 'Mi cante y un poema' and 'Calle del aire'.

In "Mujeres", Estrella Morente pays tribute to the great female voices of all time, paying special attention to cantaoras (female flamenco singers) such as La Niña de los Peines, La Repompa and Carmen Linares. The record also features classic songs like 'Ne me quitte pas', 'Nostalgia' and 'Volver', a cover version that was chosen as the title track of the soundtrack of Pedro Almodóvar's new film.

"My Songs And A Poem"
It is a lot more than merely a first step in the recording market for the young singer. Preceded by an important advertising campaign, and allowed to ripen for two years under the watchful eye of her father Enrique Morente, the record represents a veritable flamenco anthology. Estrella performs the different palos (forms) giving them a very personal and unusually classic touch, for an artist from the new generation. Her debut as a composer is A Pastora, an admiring tribute to La Niсa de los Peines. There is a blend of wisdom and freshness in the seven guitars that accompany her: those of the Habichuelas, of the Carmonas, and of Manolo Sanlъcar, Montoyita and Alfredo Lago.
