Review: KMFDM's latest release "WWIII" is not only a much heavier, harder, more powerful KMFDM, but much of the disc's essence is apocalyptic in nature! The subject matter of the songs delve into political consciousness and anti war exaltations, but however "post event reaction" this disc may seem to the uneducated, the title and the general plan for this record was conceived before the war in Iraq was initiated.

Each of the songs provide a different appeal. The title track "WWIII" begins with an intro that is reminiscent of music you might hear playing in the background on the soundtrack for Deliverance with a whisky bottle being popped open, banjos, acoustic guitars, rocking chair squeaking... then it slams into fast, heart pounding electric guitars and drums. KMFDM declares war on everything in this song! It includes a couple of small sound bites from George Bush himself for a nice KMFDM style nod.

"Blackball" you will want to dance to. "Pity For The Pious" will make you blush. "Moron" will entertain you and make you laugh. The final track called "Intro" which is really an outro, provides a foreshadowing of more to come from KMFDM. Some of the songs very serious in nature indeed! However KMFDM never forgets to poke fun at themselves in various places throughout the disc.
