Personnel includes: John Adorney (acoustic & electric guitars, dulcimer, Bulgarian tambura, cello, keyboards, autoharp, percussion); Daya (vocals); Richard Hardy (flute); Chris Bleth (oboe).

John Adorney employs guitar and unique instrumentation over smoothly sculpted beats to create deeply resonant songs that bespeak triumph and positivity. Daya, a vocalist Adorney has known since she was nine years old, figures prominently on the album.

"Always," "Waiting for the Moon," and album closer "Mavoh Mavoh" (which means "I love you from eternity to eternity") feature Daya's emotive vocals, helping to place the music in a different realm. New Age composer John Adorney began studying music at age nine. Although his first instrument was the cello, within two years he'd also acquired a guitar, profoundly influenced by the Beatles and the British Invasion they launched. He additionally learned the piano, and went on to study classical music at the University of Connecticut; a tenure with an ethnic dance troupe followed before Adorney relocated to Denver during the late 1970s, becoming a fixture of the local folk circuit. He next moved to Los Angeles, teaching music at a school for disabled children before founding his own music therapy practice; by the 1990s Adorney was additionally composing New Age-influenced instrumental material, eventually landing three pieces on the 1998 Domo compilation Reflections. The exposure brought him to the attention of the EverSound label, and later that same year Adorney issued his debut LP, Beckoning. ~ Jason Ankeny

In typical Farish fashion, Ryan delves into various themes of world-beat, new-age and spiritual sounds awash with his lush piano melodies and powerful minimalistic approach.

From the opening The Promise, a simple piano line pairs with indigenous vocal chants; segueing into lush break-beat washed with beautiful synths. Bouncing beats and bubbling basslines invigorate Joy; solemn strings ebb dreamily into stunning female vocals on Pacific Wind. Joyful Caribbean style beats and call & response style children’s choirs weave a tapestry of perfectly blended chillout electronica with an organic style.

From the Sky dives right in with a brilliance of light; further demonstrating Ryan’s brightest moments are yet to come. His music is introspective and reflective; giving you a glimpse into his mind; where the sky is always blue, the grass is always green and the melodies always bring a smile.

Ryan Farish - Everlasting (2006)

You might not expect this kind of music from someone who composes soundtracks for the Christian Broadcasting Network, but on his own, Ryan Farish creates a cinematically sweeping, chilled electronica. After drifting toward a saccharine sweetness on his last CD, From the Sky, the multi-instrumentalist has raised the energy level and rhythm intensity on Everlasting, laying down an aggressive bottom with live drums, bass, and even breakbeats that recharge his electronica-based grooves. Songs like "Mercy Follows" are almost danceable. But Farish is a melodicist at heart, and that still dominates his simple but evocative compositions, played mostly on piano and surrounded in a swirled palette of sampled flutes, synthesizer squiggles, and percussive colors. Farish has an over-reliance on samples that can give his music a generic feel, but he also has some distinctive voices, like the cross between a violin and a Chinese sho that blows through "We Are Free" and "Dedicated" like a banshee wind through high mountains. Like labelmate Amethystium, Ryan Farish doesn't take the kind of emotional or musical chances that would make this profound, remaining content to stake out a lighter, more melodically uplifting brand of electronica. ~John Diliberto

On this 1995 release, Jonn Serrie augments his patented space-music minimalism with a refreshing earthiness. The first four songs possess a tuneful momentum not often found in his other work, with a purring saxophone as the lead voice. Still, there is a vivid sense of adventure and otherness in the songs. "Ixlandia" is a smooth-jazz travelogue of alien terrain, and "Blue Lumia" has a vaguely Eastern flavor.

Midway through the record, a slower, more ambient mood takes over. Once again we are gently propelled into the outer realm by languid synthesizer tones and galactic textures. The final track, "Welcome Home," smoothly blends the celestial with the earthbound: buried deep in the mix is the hushed recitation, in Italian, of a love poem. ~cduniverse.com
